In December 2018 we've found an old demo on our GoogleDrive maps: this song was the first one we wrote together for the sessions of 'The Wolf You Feed', but for some reason we never really finished that. It was right before Empty Circles, and right after the sessions of Storyteller EP, and somehow we completely forget about that one during the writing sessions later on.
Since we celebrate our 5th anniversary this year, we wanted to complete the cycle of our first five years with finishing this song, right after we returned from our European tour. It started out as a B-side song, and we recorded it as one of the most interesting experiments we've had together, as we were able to redefine the track from it's basic rehearsal recordings to a complete and current song.
So we teamed up with our partners in crime, Nemecsek to release a fundraiser split for Bagázs (bagazs.org?lang=en), a non-profit organisation that helps talented Roma people in fulfilling their dreams, and if you purchase this split, you support a cause that's far more bigger than us.
lyrics
Knowing what we once were, (and) facing what we've become, as far as I'm concerned, we're far from our Sun.
(The) rays of light are fading, and (our) past misfortunes rang back, wish we could return, these walls ment our shelter.
Every time I fall away, part of you pulls me back. Wish I wouldn't ran, and cherish what we've had. Every time I look forward, part of you rings a bell, (but the) rain folds the sunfade, (and) an echo spins my head.
Counting days and daydreaming for a sign (of) letting these struggles dissolve in the light. These white walls and pictures are hiding our past, the mirror is shattered, the splinter repels.
One day I'll be brave enough to forgive ourselves. One day I'll not think about why we couldn't start again.
My mind sees through you, no God gave me a lamp, (but the) embers of yesterday can't shine through the past.
My mind sees through me, while you left for a reason, (but the) echoes of our past left their mark: I miss you.
As far as I'm concerned
we're far from the sun, we're far from the sun.
